Bridge 2 Business Enterprise Awards 2022

The Bridge 2 Business Enterprise Awards 2022 is a celebration of 'all things enterprise' across colleges in Scotland. The awards recognise and reward students, educators and individuals who are leading the way in enterprise. The awards will once again be a virtual event for this year and will take place on Thursday 28th April at 7pm

Award Categories

Innovation Award

This award recognises a project, team or start-up enterprise that has had a successful innovative approach towards the development of a product or service. The judges are looking to examples of ideas, and a strong understanding of innovations to create either a solution to a problem, a commercial opportunity or the development of a new process. The judges will also be looking at an innovative approach to adapting a business product or service digitally due to Covid-19.

Our finalists for the Innovation Award Sponsored by Elevator are:

- The Media Staff & Students from the Faculty of Creative Industries (City of Glasgow College)

- John McBlain (Ayrshire College)

Social Enterprise Award

This award us for an innovative team of students that have created a Social enterprise project or activity. The judges are looking for the most innovative led-support team that can demonstrate a charitable or social enterprise focused activity as part of a college group/project. 

Our finalists for the Social Enterprise Award Sponsored by Social Investment Scotland are:

- The RESPECT Group (North East Scotland College)

- The Ready for Retail class within the Supported Learning Department (New College Lanarkshire)

- Nicole Skowronska (University Highlands & Islands Colleges)

College Enterprise Champion

This award will go to a College Lecturer/Employee or any member of college staff who is leading the way in enterprise education within their institution. They may be promoting business and enterprise skills development during lessons, hosting enterprising workshops and events or creating enterprise projects and competitions. Special recognitions will also be given to educators who have adapted successfully during blended learning, to offer additional support to students.

Enterprising Student of the Year Award

This award will go to the college Student who has shown the most enterprising spirit and creative approach to not only blended learning, but also a specialised project or business idea. The judges are looking for examples of how a combination of college study and business skills development has led to either a start-up enterprise, an innovative website or digital product or sustainable employment or progression.

Special Recognition Award

The judges are looking for either an educator, staff member or college student who is deserving of special recognition for their dedication, passion or development in supporting enterprise education. This will also include anyone who has been involved with the Bridge 2 Business programme, whether you are an educator or a learner. If you have shown real passion, and enthusiasm for all things enterprise, we want to hear from you.

Enterprising College of the Year Award

This award will go to the college that is leading the way in enterprise within Further Education throughout Scotland. The judges are looking for innovative approaches to adapted to blending learning and new digital processes that have supported the students during this time. Whether you are wanting to recognise a curriculum area, team of staff or a collective enterprise project then we want to hear from the leading colleges in Scotland. The judges are also looking for examples of enterprising team projects and initiatives that have developed the business skills and knowledge, of both students and lecturers alike.
